I hope everyone is prepared, the third annual MVA Chili Cook Off is being held on Saturday, February 11th at Hal and Al's on Parsons Ave. Again this year we have two categories - vegan and traditional. There is no cost to enter a chili in the completion. Even if you don't want to make a chili, everyone is invited to taste the entries for a suggested donation of $3. All money raised will benefit the MVA. Tasters will have an opportunity to vote on their favorite chili for both categories. Tasting with subsequent voting will start at 5pm and conclude at 7pm. Once the votes are counted the winners will receive a trophy courtesy of the MVA and prize sponsored by Hal and Al's.
Those planning to enter a chili should plan to be present at 4:45pm to get your chili setup and in place prior to 5:00. Please bring you chili in a crock-pot and a ladle for serving. I recommend everyone bring their A game as I will be trying to reclaim my title from two years ago. With my loss last year I will be making a new and improved recipe, are you up to the challenge? If your specialty is not chili, consider the mac & cheese cook off at the Red Brick Inn when March rolls around.
