​This year marks a significant milestone for the Merion Village Association (MVA), as we celebrate our 40th anniversary! Our association, founded by a group of passionate neighborhood residents on April 23rd, 1985, has worked tirelessly over the years to bring the community together. We’re excited to mark this special occasion with a fantastic lineup of annual events, and we hope to connect with both new and familiar faces throughout the year.
 
As a 100% volunteer-based organization, the MVA relies on the support of our community members to bring these events to life. Whether you’ve been with us for years or are just getting involved, we would love for you to help make this the best year yet. Event Planning & DAY-OF Volunteer OpportunitieS

MVA 40th Anniversary Founder’s Day Celebration + Market
Sunday, April 27th from 12 to 4 PM

• Planning Committee Volunteers: January to April
• Event Day Volunteers: 8 AM to 6 PM

Help us celebrate our 40th anniversary with a local community market and festivities! Volunteers are needed for both planning and event day support.
 
Spring Community Yard Sale
Saturday, May 3rd from 10 AM to 3 PM

• Poster Distribution Volunteers: 4-6 Weeks Before Sale
• Yard Sign Distribution + Pickup Volunteers: 1 Week Before and Day of the Sale

This is a beloved event in Merion Village, and we need volunteers to help with everything from posting flyers to setting up signs a week before the sale and picking them up when the sale ends.
 
26th Annual Garden Tour
Sunday, July 13th from 10 AM to 3 PM

• Planning Committee Volunteers: March to July
• Poster Distribution Volunteers: 6-8 Weeks Before Tour
• Yard Sign Distribution + Pickup Volunteers: 2 Weeks Before and Day of the Tour
• Event Day Volunteers: 8 AM to 4 PM

Join us as we showcase the beautiful gardens in Merion Village! Volunteers will assist with planning, promotion, sign placement, and event day operations.
 
11th Annual Festival
Sunday, August 24th from 12 to 6 PM

• Planning Committee Volunteers: March to August
• Poster Distribution Volunteers: 10-12 Weeks Before Festival
• Door-Hander Distribution Volunteers: 3-4 Weeks Before Festival
• Event Day Volunteers: 8 AM to 8 PM

The Annual Festival is one of our most anticipated events, bringing together music, food, vendors, and fun for the entire neighborhood. We need volunteers to help with everything from planning, coordination silent auction donation, outreach and event-day support.
 
Autumn Community Yard Sale
Saturday, October 4th from 10 AM to 3 PM

• Poster Distribution Volunteers: 4-6 Weeks Before Sale
• Yard Sign Distribution + Pickup Volunteers: 1 Week Before and Day of the Sale

The fall version of our yard sale is another favorite! Volunteer to help with posting flyers, setting up signs a week before the sale and picking them up when the sale ends.

Committee & Project Volunteer Opportunities

​Beautification Committee
Volunteers work to create, improve, and maintain beautification projects throughout Merion Village. This may include community clean-ups and other creative ideas. Volunteers are needed to brainstorm and organize these projects, which are often supported by MVA and local grants.
 
Membership Committee
The Membership Committee focuses on expanding outreach and building the MVA’s membership by engaging with both residents and businesses in and around Merion Village. Volunteers are needed to develop strategies to promote the MVA and engage the local community.
 
Social Committee
The Social Committee is dedicated to connecting neighbors and strengthening the community through MVA-sponsored social events and activities. Volunteers are needed to plan and organize gatherings for people of all ages, from casual get-togethers to larger celebrations.
