Hey South Side friends! The 2025 South Side Scholarship application is officially live, and we couldn’t be more excited to help at least one local senior take the next step in their education! Each year, we team up with our neighbors to award a scholarship to one deserving senior at South High School – and we need your help to spread the word.
$1,000+ Scholarship for a Local Senior This scholarship is all about supporting the youth in our community. The lucky recipient will receive at least $1,000 to help with education expenses, whether they’re headed to college, a trade school, or any accredited program. It’s our way of saying, “We believe in you!” If you know a senior who lives on the South Side and is graduating from South High School this year, make sure they know about this opportunity! How to Apply If you’re a South High senior and you live on the South Side of Columbus, make sure to apply for the 2025 South Side Scholarship by April 6th. The application is easy, and all submissions are online at www.merionvillage.org. Let’s help our students chase their dreams and make a difference right here at home! Chili Cook-Off: A Tasty Way to Support the Scholarship Fund Here’s where things get delicious. The 2025 Chili Cook-Off, benefiting the South Side Scholarship Fund, is happening on Saturday, March 1st from 12 PM to 2 PM at The Hey Hey. We’re talking about lots of mouth-watering chili to taste, vote on, and enjoy with friends and neighbors – all while raising money for a great cause.
When you support the South Side Scholarship Fund, you're helping students in our community access opportunities they might not otherwise have. It’s an investment in their future, and in turn, the future of our whole community. So, let’s show our South Side students that we’ve got their backs. Whether you’re attending the Chili Cook-Off or just sharing the word about the scholarship, you’re making a difference. Thanks for helping us continue this tradition of support for our amazing youth. Fourth Street is available to members of the MVA to reserve for small events at no charge? The MVA holds a variety of meetings and events here, but when the space is not in use by the MVA, it is available for hourly reservation/rental by the community.
We're so happy that our neighbors have been able to reserve this space for small parties, gaming sessions, meetings, and other gatherings. We also love hosting events at the Info Center! We’re thrilled to announce that our 10th Annual Festival is just around the corner, and this year’s event is set to be our most exciting yet! As part of the festivities, we’re hosting a Silent Auction and a 50/50 Raffle, both packed with fantastic opportunities to win incredible prizes while supporting a great cause.
Silent Auction This year’s Silent Auction features over 30 beautifully curated baskets, each filled with amazing items generously donated by local businesses and organizations. Whether you’re a seasoned auction enthusiast or a first-timer, this is your chance to bid on some truly exceptional items.
50/50 Raffle In addition to the Silent Auction, don’t miss out on our 50/50 Raffle! It’s a thrilling way to potentially win big while supporting the MVA and our annual festival.
Both the Silent Auction and the 50/50 Raffle are vital parts of our festival, helping to support the MVA and make our 10th Annual Festival a memorable event. All orders will be available for pickup at the 2024 Merion Village Festival on Sunday, August 25th from 12-6 PM. If you are unable to pick up your order at that time, our volunteers will assist with delivery within 1 mile in the 2-3 weeks following the festival.  Hey Neighbors! One of the things we love most about Merion Village is how artful and eclectic this community is! We’d like to show off this colorful spirit even more and showcase more art throughout our neighborhood.
Here’s the big picture: Support from MV Neighbors + A Talented Local Artist + A Prime Neighborhood Spot = NEW 2022 MURAL! We need your help to make it happen! If you like art (and who’s kidding, EVERYONE loves art), we could really use your support! In order to bring this project to life, we need to raise money. If you participated in last year’s fundraiser, THANK YOU! We raised $1,025! That’s pretty awesome, but we didn’t quite reach our goal. So, we’re picking things back up where we left off. Our new goal is $3,500. We know it’s lofty, but we’re counting on you to help us make it happen! Please take a moment to make a contribution and help us bring more art to Merion Village! Big or small, we really appreciate it. Donating is fast, easy and every penny goes to support a local artist and this installation. ANDDDDD we’ll all get to see more art as you stroll through the neighborhood! We hope you’ll follow along with us on social media as we bring this project to life. Thanks! The Merion Village Mural Group  Do you love the South Side? Are you passionate about your community? Does public art make you happy? The MVA will be working with an artist to install a community-inspired mural on a local business building in Merion Village! Several artists applied to help with this project and the Summer Fundays committee is working toward selecting a partner. The selected artist will work with the committee to design a mural and plan/execute installation. We will share updates as this exciting project develops! While we are still in the planning stages, we would like to ask our community to help raise the funds necessary to install this mural. Funds raised will be used toward completing the project (purchasing supplies, paying the artist for their time, etc.) We are so excited to see this project come to life, and we thank you for helping to make the mural a reality!
